Before you buy CBD dried
Choosing the right quality of dried CBD is not easy. Despite the wide availability of different varieties of hemp flower in hemp shops, finding and choosing a reliable supplier is not easy. At Pure Hemp, we spent nearly two years reviewing a selection of promising offers from over a dozen companies specialising in the cultivation of the hemp flower from which the dried CBD is produced. You'd be surprised to know how many conversations end at the phone call stage ...
In our opinion, there are literally 3-4 companies in the market whose expertise and competence, the quality of the available land, the cultivation control process, commitment, financial and personnel background and a specific philosophy of operation guarantee reproducible high quality CBD cannabis and this regardless of the variety grown.
Purehemp.co.uk's hemp shop is a carefully composed range of dried hemp based on flowers supplied by one of these companies.
We believe that only high-quality dried cannabis has the potential, like cigars, to become a connoisseur product that is reached for recreationally, but without the risk of unwanted side effects or intoxication.
What is a hemp?
Hemp is simply hemp in English. In Poland we use the terms hemp seed, fibre hemp or industrial hemp. Both the terms hemp and marijuana are colloquial, cultural names. They have no use in the scientific classification of Cannabis plants.
Cannabis is a genus of flowering plants in the Cannabaceae family consisting of three species: Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica and Cannabis ruderalis.
Hemp (or the aforementioned hemp) is the name used to describe Cannabis varieties containing less than 0.2% THC in the dried material.
The name cannabis or hemp, in simple terms, refers to those Cannabis plants that do not have a narcotic effect, but have a very wide range of applications in various industries, from textiles, building materials and paper to food products, supplements and products in the area of so-called wellbeing, i.e. cosmetics or vapourisation of dried CBD.
What is cannabis?
Cannabis is a colloquial term for Cannabis strains with THC content higher than 0.2% (in Poland). These are euphoric, intoxicating varieties, considered soft drugs. Cannabis is still illegal in many countries, including Poland, and there are relatively severe penalties for its possession and use.
The colloquiality of this name and its negative connotations have led some professionals and organisations associated with the cannabis industry to refuse to use it, preferring to refer to its proper name, which has been used for millennia "cannabis".
Cannabis became illegal in 1930 thanks to one man. Harry Anslinger, for he is the man in question, used cannabis as a tool to justify the existence of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (US FDA). This story is perfectly described in an article by editor Ewelina Zambrzycka-Kościelniak of gazeta.pl, which you can find here: Cannabis history. "100 years ago certain groups wanted to make a demon out of cannabis".
The reasons, methods and tools of socio-technical manipulation and outright lies used by officials terrified of losing their lucrative jobs to make cannabis plants illegal were not only unethical, but downright harmful. Today we know this with certainty, and the assessment of the historic, authoritarian, senseless and scientifically unsound official decisions is now unequivocally negative.
Marijuana became illegal almost everywhere in the world for a period of several decades. Currently, the liberalisation of laws related to the use of cannabis is progressing worldwide. In many countries around the world, the use of cannabis is allowed both on a medical level (so-called medical cannabis) as well as on a recreational level.
In Poland, medical cannabis is legal despite a higher THC content than 0.2%. It is possible, although still not very common, to obtain a prescription from a doctor and legally purchase medical marijuana at a pharmacy. Recreational use of marijuana is still illegal. Just as preparations such as RSO oil are illegal.
Instead, hemp varieties, or hemp, are legal, as are a number of hemp products, including the so-called 'hemp products'. CBD oils as long as the THC content does not exceed 0.2%. These products are available without a prescription.
Cannabis vs marijuana: 3 key differences
The differences between cannabis and marijuana are crucial for your health and the risk of legal consequences:
- Fibre cannabis (hemp) is legal. Cannabis is not.
- Phytochemical composition
Both hemp and marijuana can produce high concentrations of the cannabidiol CBD, but already the THC content of hemp in Poland cannot exceed 0.2% (in other countries this limit is higher, e.g. 0.3% or even 1%). - Usability
What people use recreational cannabis with a high THC content for does not need to be explained to anyone. In Poland, recreational use of cannabis is forbidden at the moment. Hemp, on the other hand, apart from its typical industrial uses, is used for the production of CBD hemp oils. These are usually supplementary products that are a source of exogenous cannabinoids, i.e. substitutes for endocannabinoids produced by the human body. They are used to maintain normal function the endocannabinoid system.
CBD dry vs. medical cannabis
Dried CBD is also not the same as medical cannabis.
Medical hemp is a prescription drug with recognised medicinal qualities resulting from the composition and ratio of the two main cannabinoids CBD and THC. Medicinally used cannabis contains high concentrations of THC reaching 18-21%. Getting a prescription requires a visit to a doctor's office, or at least a telepresence call. You will get a prescription in strictly defined cases of health problems. You will only buy medical cannabis from a pharmacy.
CBD hemp seed is not a medicine. You do not need a prescription for it. It has a completely different intensity of action from medical marijuana. Although it also contains cannabinoids, their concentration (THC less than 0.2%) and proportions make it a recreational rather than a medical product.

Properties and effects of hemp CBD dried
You can find out more about how CBD works in the article: CBD effects.
Main properties of dried hemp CBD are due to the properties of cannabidiol and the other cannabinoids it contains. We are speaking here primarily of properties and effects:
- antipsychotic
- analgesic
- anti-inflammatory
- neuroprotective
- relaxing and unwinding
- supporting sleep
Dried CBD shows effects typical of cannabinoid use. The effect of vaporised dried cannabis appears, in the shortest time (a few minutes), but lasts for a shorter period of time. With inhalation, the perceptible effect appears quicker and may be of slightly higher intensity, but the effect also lasts shorter.
Does this mean that dried cannabis is intoxicating? Vaporised hemp dried is not intoxicating. The THC content of legal dried is marginal and its correct use is safe and there is little or no risk of side effects.
CBD from hemp vs CBD from marijuana
There is no difference in quality or effect between cannabidiol from cannabis and cannabidiol from marijuana. This is the position of the scientific world, and a fact that cannot be disputed. It is exactly the same natural, plant-based phytochemical.
The only difference is that CBD extracted from fibre hemp is legal (because hemp is legal). CBD extracted from cannabis is not allowed because the plant is banned, and therefore CBD from cannabis is illegal.
To sum up: Cannabidiol CBD from hemp is legal when the plant is legal (<0.2% THC). CBD from cannabis is illegal because the plant is illegal.
How and where to buy dried hemp?
Above all, buy dry from reliable suppliers. Check the reviews and website of the manufacturer or distributor. If the content on the site is educational and the level of knowledge imparted to visitors is of more than just marketing value, then you may assume you are dealing with a reliable vendor.
Ideally, it should be a legitimate company and not an unspecified individual or group of people from popular auction or advertising sites. If you decide to buy dried cannabis from such places, make sure that the dried cannabis they sell is legal. Such sellers have never even heard of quality control, so I will keep quiet about it. In the same way, it is hard to imagine how impersonal sellers from classifieds and auctions care at all about your anonymity and discretion. There are no procedures or standards there - just a slightly lower price, often questionable quality and basically nothing else.
Hemp shops in Poland have become commonplace in recent years. If you have confidence in your local supplier, you can probably source from them without much concern.
However, if for various reasons you prefer greater anonymity then it is worth shopping in the online cannabis shop. Our cannabis shop guarantees anonymity and discretion. We know that this is important to many of you, which is why we pay special attention to these issues.
We select our suppliers according to precisely defined criteria.
All this is done to satisfy even the most demanding customers and their refined taste with maximum safety.
The Pure Hemp shop offers a carefully selected range for both amateurs and connoisseurs of dried hemp vaporisation.
We offer an extensive selection of popular dried hemp varieties as well as unique, limited editions of our own, but always excellent quality varieties that you won't find elsewhere.
Price of dried CBD
Prices for dried CBD vary.
The most popular legal and well-known strains for vaporisation cost from around £25-30 per gram. In our cannabis shop these varieties are or will be available, of course. We guarantee legality, hand harvesting and proper drying of the cannabis. Certificates of composition analysis are also available on request.
Unique, short editions of rare varieties, hand-picked and selected female flowers, with a guarantee of the correct cultivation and drying process, which will be appreciated above all by connoisseurs, are available at prices from £70 to £80 per gram.
Unit prices (per gram) drop with larger packs. Typically, 1g, 2g, 3g and 5g variants are available, and the discount when ordering 5 grams can be as high as 20-25%.
The 10 most important criteria for selecting our dried food supplier:
- Expert knowledge of the cannabis cultivation process - cannabis cultivation only appears to be easy on the surface. To do it well requires experience and a very broad knowledge of the risks and hazards involved. On the basis of expert knowledge, quality control procedures are implemented on the crop to minimise the risk of flower loss or spoilage.
- Use of certified CBD seeds - certified non-GMO seeds (NON-GMO seeds).
- Natural methods of cultivation and production of the dried product - no chemical additives or chemical manipulation of the composition of cannabinoids and terpenes either at the cultivation stage or in the final product. We rely on all-natural dried hemp CBD.
- Hand harvesting of cannabis flowers - no mechanical, industrial harvesting method can match the hand harvesting of finished crops.
- The process of drying the flowers - this is one of the most essential parts of the process of producing dried hemp. Harvested flowers should go to the drying room within 2 hours of harvesting at the latest. After this time, the harvested material starts to rot, mould appears on it and mycotoxins are formed, thus severely reducing the quality of the dried CBD.
- Organic cultivation - organic methods of hemp cultivation are an essential part of the process constituting the naturalness and high quality of the dried product.
- Guarantee of the legality of the dried CBD - crop sampling for THC content must be carried out within the seed manufacturer's recommended time frame, and this content must not exceed 0.2% THC. In addition, the finished CBD dried should have a certificate of cannabinoid analysis confirming its legality.
- Having the right resources and technological facilities - the production of high-quality dried food requires skilled human resources and instant access to drying facilities.
- Long-term plans for development and market presence - this element has to do with the specific philosophy of the operation and the values guiding the venture. A long-term and implemented plan for the development of CBD hemp cultivation, including constant improvement of product quality, is evidence of the focus on building relationships with both wholesale customers and end customers. A satisfied customer will not only return with their next order, but will also tell their friends about the interesting, value-for-money product. It all starts with the crops.
- Excise duty - current interpretations of current law require producers, importers and distributors to impose an excise duty on dried CBD hemp and to mark the packaging with an appropriate label. On the one hand, this is a barrier to entry, but on the other hand, it is part of the quality control process because such hemp is subjected to additional, independent phytocomposition tests. This provides even greater assurance of legality and quality.
The above list is not complete, but represents important elements of our supplier evaluation process.
